This Topping Out Ceremony Fit to a Tea

High tea--at ground level--marked the topping out of the Wilshire Courtyard, the $165-million Wilshire Courtyard office complex under construction at 5750 Wilshire Blvd.
Scores of guests, including civic dignitaries, gathered at the Miracle Mile site for a 4 p.m.--tea time--placement of the final beam atop the 1-million-square-foot project, which is 56% preleased and is a joint venture of J. H. Snyder Co. and CalFed Inc.
The structural units within the complex, designed by McLarand Vasquez & Partners, are unlike high-rise structures along Wilshire Boulevard. They will rise only six stories.
Upon scheduled completion next spring, Wilshire Courtyard will have four six-story atria, office terraces, extensive landscaping, waterwork sculptures, a park, health spa and a quarter-mile jogging track. M. H. Golden Co. is the builder.
