Gil Fuentes of Newport Beach has been hired as president and chief executive officer of Camino Real Savings Bank. Fuentes, 54, a former chief financial officer at Columbia Savings & Loan Assn., had headed PNA Investment Corp. for the last year. He replaced Edward N. Jones, 49, of Burbank who became an adviser to the saving bank’s owner and chairman, Mervyn A. Phelan, 45, of Capistrano Beach. The savings bank is seeking approval from the state Department of Savings and Loans to open a branch at its administrative headquarters in Orange. It is now based in San Fernando.
