A bomb found by two boys in a rural area near Lakeside was detonated Monday by the Sheriff’s Department bomb squad, authorities said.
The boys found the device while playing near North Woodside Avenue about 3:30 p.m. Sheriff’s bomb experts said it was a time bomb that had failed to detonate. It was made up of explosives and a flammable liquid.
