YELLOWSTONE PARK, Wyo. —
A Frenchman attacked by a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park was in stable condition in a park hospital Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Amy Vanderbilt said Alain Foegle, 29, of Bitche, France, was hiking alone at the time of the attack by a grizzly sow Sunday. She said Foegle suffered lacerations and puncture wounds to his arm, leg and back and a dislocated shoulder.
Vanderbilt said the sow apparently had at least one cub with her at the time of the attack.
