Boy Dies of Injuries: A 5-year-old Placentia boy who darted in front of a car Wednesday evening died an hour later from his injuries at UCI Medical Center, police said. The child, Panchit Vimonchon, was hit by a car at 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of La Jolla Road. Witnesses said the boy darted in front of the oncoming car, according to police spokeswoman Dee Gisler. She said that the driver of the car was not cited but that officers are still investigating the accident.
