The Orange County Fair pulled in a record-breaking $1.486 million in admission and parking revenues during its 10-day run, which closed Sunday. Another $864,645 in gross receipts was brought in by the carnival, with approximately $500,000 of that take going to the fair. Officials report that 439,958 people went through turnstiles at the fair, a 21% increase in overall attendance from last year. The fair board was presented with the record revenue figures, but no specific plans for spending the surplus funds were discussed, according to spokeswoman Jill Lloyd. “We still have to pay all the bills, “ she said.
