Thomas Watson, a Syracuse University football player who pleaded guilty last month to sexual misconduct, has been sentenced to three years probation and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service that includes educating young men about how to act around woman.
Watson, 20, pleaded guilty June 12 to a misdemeanor charge of sexual misconduct, for which he could have received a one-year jail term. He originally was charged with felony first-degree rape after a university freshman accused him of assaulting her in her dormitory room, where the two had gone after meeting in a university area bar.
