Andrea Harris has been named principal of Leuzinger High School by the Centinela Valley Union High School Board of Trustees. Harris, an assistant principal at Buena Park High, succeeds Ronald Tyler, who has taken a district level position as director of computer services.

The Palos Verdes Arts Assn. has elected Mike Friedman to a one-year term as president. Friedman just served a three-year term as treasurer.

James Barber has been named administrator of Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood. Barber had been executive vice president and chief operating officer of Queen of the Valley Hospital, West Covina.

Also at Daniel Freeman, Coro Yuja has been named president of the auxiliary, which holds fund-raisers and gives volunteer help to the hospital.

Jim Slayden has been named chairman of the Carson, Lomita Torrance Private Industry Council. Slayden, former general manager of Bullock’s in Del Amo, will be responsible for overall operation of the nonprofit employment placement service.

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Harbor City has honored Roseanne Horta, of San Pedro, for her 14,300 hours of volunteer service. Horta has worked at the medical center for more than eight years, and is president of the Volunteer Board.
