Don’t Despair, Football Is Just Around the Corner
Viewpoint published a letter (July 26) contrasting The Times’ writer’s correct spelling of abscessed versus the Herald Examiner scribe’s use of abcessed . After hours of deliberation, one cannot determine whether this is the result of random letter-bag grabbing, or if it truly reflects average reader attention to the gut-wrenching thick of the pennant race.
Ah, but not to despair. Within a couple of weeks we can ignore opinions on how the Dodgers’ chances have been impacted by another Lasorda blunder and joyously begin to bridge the seasons by extracting data on preseason football.
