Commerce : Library Hours Retained
The City Council approved a $17-million general fund budget this week and rejected a cost-cutting proposal to reduce the operating hours of the city’s three branch libraries.
The council restored about $46,000 to the budget after receiving a petition from about 400 residents who opposed operating the library from 2 to 6 p.m. instead of the current 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
