Local News in Brief : Suspect Held in Vehicle Assault on Policeman
Burbank undercover officers arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at the Northridge Fashion Center on Friday after he got into a car and drove at a police officer before swerving away at the last minute, Los Angeles police said.
One of the officers shot at the tires of the car, which then struck three other cars in the lot, Los Angeles Police Officer Bernadette Cherry said.
No one was injured in the incident.
The driver, identified as Dwayne Davis, was being held Friday night at the Devonshire Division Jail in Northridge, Cherry said.
