The Region : 3 Killed After Car Crashes, Explodes
Two women and a man were killed when the speeding car in which they were traveling spun off Sunset Avenue in La Puente, crashed into a wall, caught fire and exploded, the California Highway Patrol reported. Witnesses said the car was going between 55 and 60 m.p.h. on Sunset near Blackwood Street when it veered off the road and struck the wall, CHP Officer Lujuanna Lopez said. A coroner’s spokesman said the driver and two passengers were burned beyond recognition and have not been identified.
