A student at New York Technical College in Brooklyn who believed the school owed him $700 shot five people on the campus, killing one man, and two other people were hurt trying to escape, authorities said. The gunman kept police and rescue workers at bay for about an hour before surrendering. A suspect, identified as Van Anthony Hull, 29, a student in the college’s work-study program, was in custody, police said. “He had ammunition and two guns and apparently he knew how to use them,” Chief of Patrol Robert Colangelo said.
