Lynwood : Eight File for Council Seat

Eight people have filed nomination papers for the Nov. 4 special election to replace Councilman Louis A. Thompson, who died last month.

The eight returned the papers to the city clerk by the deadline last Friday. The election will be held with the general election.

Those filing papers include former Councilman James Rowe, an 18-year council member who was defeated in November, 1985; Louis Heine, who finished fourth in the same 12-candidate race for three seats; Alfreddie Johnson Jr., who finished fifth, and Carlos P. Manlapaz, who finished 10th.

Others filing papers were George Leon Lewis, Paul Richards, Leonard Gibbs and John Melvin James.
