Norwalk : Dental Benefits for Workers
The City Council Monday approved an allocation of $62,000 to provide dental coverage to about 175 full-time employees, overriding a staff recommendation to deny the request and consider it during union negotiations.
The action came after the council was presented with a petition signed by 49 city employees, most of whom are not members of the Norwalk City Employees Assn. Dental benefits have been in place for about a year for council members and managers such as department heads and assistant department heads.
