A security guard pleaded innocent Wednesday to a charge of murdering his mother.

Bail for Michael Steven Wilson, 27, of San Diego was set at $300,000 by San Diego Municipal Court Judge Lillian Quon.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Bill Collins told the judge that Margaret Wilson, 58, was beaten and repeatedly stabbed in the 50th Street apartment where they both lived. The body was found Aug. 8.

A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 17.

Wilson refused to release his mother’s body for the funeral until a new autopsy is conducted, at the request of his court-appointed attorney, Patricia Robinson.
