Encinitas
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department investigators said Wednesday they are seeking a suspect in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another.
Gregorio Contreras Cruz, 27, and his companion, Victor Garcia Ibanez of Oceanside, were shot outside a 2nd Street apartment complex in Encinitas Tuesday evening. Paramedics took them to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, where Cruz was pronounced dead and Ibanez was treated for gunshot wounds and released.
Investigators say they have a description of a man seen leaving the scene in a light-colored vehicle.
