Harris Named to Conservancy Panel
Gov. George Deukmejian has appointed Betty H. Harris, secretary of the William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom, to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy advisory committee.
The classroom, which sponsors programs nature and wilderness programs, is located on 600 acres in Franklin Canyon above Beverly Hills.
Harris also serves as chairwoman of the Friends of the Beverly Hills Public Library archives committee, as vice president of the Municipal League of Beverly Hills and as vice president of Helping Hand of Los Angeles.
She founded the Ann & Morris Harris Collection of Large Print Books for the Visually Handicapped.
