Three firefighters were hospitalized and six others were treated by paramedics for injuries they received when a burning ceiling collapsed on them. Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said residents of a nearby apartment building were evacuated for a time when flames broke out in a restaurant in the 1700 block of Sunset Boulevard. He said nine firefighters were in the restaurant when the ceiling came down. Damage was estimated at $125,000.
