Pets to Be Reburied at Dug-Up Cemetery
The remains of more than 70 animals dug up by workers installing a retaining wall at Pet Haven Cemetery in Carson will be reburied, manager Harold Hand promised Monday as protests were made by pet lovers.
Hand said construction of the wall, ordered by the county, forced relocation of graves along a 2-foot-wide, 300-foot-long swath.
He noted that about 28,000 pets--mostly dogs and cats but also snakes, turtles, monkeys, parrots and even a goldfish--are buried at Pet Haven.
