An Inglewood apartment house was gutted this morning by a fast-moving fire that injured at least 27 people, many of whom jumped from the second floor to escape the flames, authorities said.
Those hurt in the mid-morning blaze were taken to six area hospitals where they were treated for injuries, including cuts, scrapes and broken bones. Two firefighters overcome by smoke were among those treated and released. The fire caused about $100,000 damage to the two-story complex at 3700 W. Century Blvd. The cause of the blaze, which was contained in 15 minutes, is under investigation.
