A man suspected of shooting another man to death during an argument in Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles was himself killed inside a nearby hotel when he turned and pointed his pistol at a pursuing policeman, investigators said. The officer-involved shooting team said Officer Bryce Spafford, 36, fired several shots. A coroner’s office spokesman said names of the two dead men, ages 34 and 27, could not be released because relatives had not been found.
