Pershing Square Tower

Share

Regarding Sam Hall Kaplan’s coverage of improving Pershing Square (July 27), I would like to respond to a “contest entry” submitted by one of your readers, John B. Jones (August 10).

Mr. Jones suggested building a beautiful tower in the square, with well-maintained landscaping. I encourage Mr. Jones and city planners to continue showing concern for buildings that are beautiful and pedestrian-friendly, as well as functional.

Getting back to the issue at hand though, what about improving an entire city block of open space in a downtown where towers are many and open spaces are few?
