Valley Board Promoting Vote Registration
The San Fernando Valley Board of Realtors has begun its distribution of 80,000 door hangers and 50,000 registration forms in an unprecedented campaign to register 35,000 Valley voters.
The campaign marks the first time since the 1970s that the board has organized a voter registration effort. It is also the first time in the board’s history that a massive two-month campaign combines voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives.
More than 2,000 area Boy Scouts will participate in the effort, said Steve Raynor, the board’s first vice president. Voter registration campaign chairman David Rolapp reminded that Oct. 6 is the deadline for submitting completed registration forms to the county registrar of voters.
