A 15-year-old Garden Grove youth was arrested Sunday for allegedly ordering a pit bull terrier to attack cats and passers-by, police said.
Lt. Charles Gibbs said the youth, whose identity was not revealed because of his age, was taken to a county juvenile detention facility. He was taken into custody on suspicion of cruelty to animals, Gibbs said.
Police said the youth was ordering the pit bull to attack people and stray cats at the front of a motel in the 12600 block of Harbor Boulevard. The incident occurred about 3:50 a.m.
The pit bull, which had attacked a cat, was captured and taken to a county animal shelter by animal control officers, Gibbs said.
