Wells Fargo Bank will close 14 branches in mid-September, part of its planned elimination of 120 overlapping offices that it owns as a result of its May 30 acquisition of Crocker National Bank.

Three of the branches to be closed are existing Wells Fargo offices, while the other 11 are Crocker offices. All accounts will be transferred to nearby offices of the combined bank.

Wells Fargo officials said 28 Crocker branches already had been eliminated and their accounts moved to other Crocker branches.

In Encino, a Wells Fargo branch is being closed and accounts will be moved to a Crocker office. The other six to be closed in Southern California are all Crocker branches. The Los Angeles office that is closing is the branch at 5650 Wilshire Blvd.; its accounts will be transferred to a Wells Fargo branch at 5950 Wilshire Blvd.

The remaining seven branches are in Northern California.
