Monrovia : Council Salaries Raised
Members of the City Council, who have been earning $150 a month since 1966, have voted to increase their salaries to $300, the maximum allowed by state law.
The action came after City Manager Jim Starbird said that the additional $150 a month will help compensate council members for expenses they incur in their official duties. The new salaries will become effective in October.
