Arturo Godoy, the South American boxer who twice fought Joe Louis during a career spanning two decades, died in Iquique, Chile, of cancer and diabetes. He was 74. In 1940, at the height of his career, Godoy went 15 rounds against Louis at New York’s Madison Square Garden and lost a split decision. The following year, Louis stopped Godoy in the eighth round.
