Pele will come out of retirement to play in a world seniors soccer tournament in January, the Jornal do Brasil reported in Rio de Janeiro.
Pele, 46, has called a news conference for Tuesday. Jornal do Brasil said he will use it to announce his return to the field after a seven-year absence.
