Fire in Thousand Oaks Mall Traced to Short
A fire in a Thousand Oaks shopping center that damaged five stores and destroyed broadcasting facilities of the Conejo Valley’s only FM radio station was caused by an electrical short, authorities said.
The blaze, which broke out Saturday night in a chiropractor’s office, caused an estimated $329,000 damage to the Plaza Oaks Shopping Center at Janss and Moorpark roads, Ventura County fire dispatcher Debra Zinskey said.
The radio station, KNGO-FM, resumed broadcasting at 4 p.m. Monday from a nearby store.
