Valencia Driver Held as Crash Kills 1, Hurts 4
A Valencia man was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter after his car crashed into a small truck on the Golden State Freeway, killing one person and injuring four others, authorities said Monday.
The accident occurred about 3 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the freeway in Castaic, California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzalez said.
The truck was traveling about 55 m.p.h. when it was rear-ended by the car driven by David D. Gonzales, 20, CHP officers said.
The 44-year-old victim, who was thrown from the truck bed, was not identified.
