Local News in Brief : Sun Valley Resident Charged With Murder
A Sun Valley man has been charged with murder in the weekend death of a North Hollywood resident, authorities said Thursday.
Merced de los Santos, 38, was identified by witnesses as the suspect in the killing of Francisco Esparza, 26, after an argument, authorities said.
The victim’s body was found Saturday morning in an apartment building parking lot in the 5900 block of Riverton Avenue, Los Angeles police said. He had been shot several times, a coroner’s spokesman said.
Authorities said they believe De Los Santos may have fled to Mexico.
