Isn’t It Time That McCallum Do His Duty?
One can only be disturbed by the special treatment Napoleon McCallum seems to be receiving from the Navy Department. I am a retired naval officer and cheered McCallum’s great play on the football field at the Naval Academy. After he serves his required years in the Navy, I would be his ardent fan again.
However, he, along with many other Navy, Army and Air Force officers have an agreement and it should be honored. There are many recent graduates from the academies with real and unplanned needs to receive similar special treatment, but because they do not have national recognition, are given no choice but to serve.
Every game has rules, let’s play by them.
