Covina : 8-Acre School Site Sold
The Charter Oak Unified School District has sold eight acres next to Glen Oak Elementary School for $2.3 million. The land, long used as a nursery, was sold after the Board of Education decided it would not be needed in a district that has had declining enrollment for many years.
Supt. Michael Caston said some of the money will be used to upgrade school properties, and some will go into an account that will provide interest for the district’s capital fund. Pacific Sunset Co. of Los Angeles bought the property, which is in a residential zone, for development of single-family homes.
