“I’ve lived with this guy for 16 years,” says George C. Scott of Gen. George S. Patton Jr. Scott, of course, played the general in the 1970 Oscar-winning film, “Patton.”
But he felt there was more to be said of the man . . . so he’s playing the general again in “The Last Days of Patton,” a three-hour “Chrysler Showcase” special airing Sunday, 8-11 p.m. on CBS (Channels 2 and 8). Eva Marie Saint portrays Beatrice Patton, Richard Dysart is Gen. Eisenhower and others in the cast are Murray Hamilton, Ed Lauter and Kathryn Leigh Scott.
The drama is based on “The Last Days of Patton” by Ladislas Farago, whose “Patton: Ordeal and Triumph” was the source for the earlier film.
