Fountain Valley : Housekeeper Claims Employer Raped Her

Share

Police on Monday were seeking a Fountain Valley man for questioning in connection with an alleged rape that a live-in housekeeper claimed took place Sunday at his apartment.

The 47-year-old woman reported a rape by telephoning the 911 emergency phone at 4:47 p.m. Sunday from the Gemco Membership Department Store parking lot on Brookhurst Street, Sgt. Larry Griswold said Monday.

Griswold said officers met the Spanish-speaking woman in the parking lot and interviewed her with the help of a translator.

The woman told officers she had been working and living in the man’s apartment for three months. On Sunday afternoon, she told them, her employer grabbed her and forced her into a bedroom, where she said he raped her.

She told police that she fled his apartment and ran to the nearby department store lot, where she found a telephone and called for help.

Griswold said officers are trying to locate her employer, a man in his mid-20s whose identity was not released. The woman was examined at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital but did not require hospitalization, Griswold said.
