The agent for Woody Bennett of the Miami Dolphins said the running back would not play today against the New York Jets unless his contract dispute was settled.
Irving Marks said Saturday he still was waiting for Dolphin General Manager Michael Robbie to return his call.
Bennett will make a reported $180,000 this season. He said he was asking for $240,000 and the Dolphins were offering $225,000. Bennett conceded the difference was only $15,000, but said it was the principle of the situation.
