Newbury Park’s Semtech Narrows Loss for Quarter

Semtech, crediting reduced manufacturing costs, said its loss narrowed to $44,000 in the second fiscal quarter ended Aug. 2, after a shortfall of $364,000 a year earlier.
The Newbury Park semiconductor company said its sales fell 8.5%, to $2.8 million, amid the industrywide slump.
For the six months ended Aug. 2, Semtech’s loss narrowed to $36,000, from $692,000 a year earlier. Sales fell 2.9%, to $5.9 million.
