A woman, reportedly trying to avoid a man’s kiss in an apparent lovers’ quarrel, fell 50 feet off a bridge to her death and her companion met the same fate trying to save her, Los Angeles police said. The victims have not been identified, Detective John Dunkin said, adding that the deaths were accidental. Both were wearing athletic clothing and neither carried identification. Both appeared to be in their mid-20s or early 30s, police said. Witnesses reported seeing the couple arguing on the bridge on North Broadway and Elysian Park Drive. The woman was sitting on the bridge railing when the man attempted to kiss her, officers said. The woman dodged his kiss and slipped off the bridge, falling 50 feet to railroad tracks below. The man fell while trying to help her.
