Alexander Decisions Wills for Forum Heavyweight Title
Larry Alexander, 227 1/2, of New York won a 12-round unanimous decision over Mark Wills, 215, of Van Nuys in the Forum heavyweight championship title fight Thursday night before a crowd of 3,605.
Alexander, the favorite to win the elimination tournament, suffered a cut over his left eye early in the bout, but it did not hinder his performance. There were no knockdowns.
In a quarterfinal lightweight bout, Walter Sims of North Hollywood survived two first-round knockdowns and rallied to win a unanimous 10-round decision over Chris Calvin of Nashville, Tenn.
