Newport Beach : Police Release Name of Woman Slain on Boat
Police have identified a woman who was fatally shot Wednesday night aboard a cabin cruiser as Janet Patrice Knobloch, 24, of 101 Bayside Drive.
Her boyfriend, Allan V. Colin, 34, of Newport Beach was arrested in connection with her death after a caller reported to police that gunfire had been heard at the De Anza Bayside Village marina, police spokesman Howard Eisenberg said.
The couple had been seen arguing earlier Wednesday while they made preparations to put to sea aboard a 26-foot cabin cruiser, according to a man who has a boat moored near the couple’s boat. Colin was taken into custody while attempting to leave the marina, situated on Upper Newport Bay.
