Prince George’s County, Md., prosecutors preparing cases against Brian Lee Tribble and two University of Maryland basketball players indicted on drug charges in connection with the death of basketball star Len Bias are seeking to get the two players to testify against Tribble, according to sources.

Tribble and Maryland players Terry Long and David Gregg were indicted in July by a county grand jury that has been investigating the cocaine-induced death of Bias, allegations of illegal drug use by Maryland athletes and the academic performances of the university’s athletes.

The three men are scheduled for trial in Prince George’s Circuit Court on Nov. 17.

Sources said prosecutors may be willing to make a deal with Long and Gregg, who have been charged with misdemeanors, in order to make a stronger case against Tribble, who could be sentenced to more than 40 years in prison if he is convicted of all four charges against him.
