10 Die at Brazil Gold Mine

SERRA PELADA, Brazil —
A landslide at an open-pit gold mine in the Amazon killed 10 miners and injured nine Thursday, an official of the local miners’ cooperative reported. The slide was apparently caused by recent heavy rains.
