Road-racing veteran Emerson Fittipaldi held off Michael Andretti to win the rain-slowed 200-mile Indy-car race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.
Fittipaldi, a two-time Formula One champion, finished a fraction of a second ahead of Andretti in his first CART victory of the season.
Rick Mears, in his best road race of the year, was a distant third, 31 seconds back, in the race which was postponed from Sept. 21.
Fittipaldi averaged 81.8 m.p.h.
