Santa Ana : 1 Dead, 3 Injured as Truck Collides With Car

One man died and three other people were injured late Saturday night when a pickup truck veered into opposing traffic and collided with a car, authorities said Sunday.

Kurt Russell Meyers, 23, of Anaheim apparently lost control of his truck and crossed over into the eastbound lanes on Warner Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, colliding with a car driven by Gwyllyn Garrod Edwards, 21, of Garden Grove.

Meyers was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he died in surgery, Police Sgt. Dave Petko said.

Edwards and his two passengers, whose identities were unknown, were taken to the same hospital with minor to serious injuries, Petko said. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
