Two El Cajon women and an infant were killed and another woman was injured Sunday afternoon when their car was hit head-on by an allegedly drunken driver on California 67 near Lakeside, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Angolika Isaacson, 52; daughter Karin, 21, and granddaughter Erika, 7 months, all died of injuries received in the accident, a CHP spokesman said.

The car’s other occupant, Teresa Isaacson, 22, was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The Isaacsons’ vehicle was traveling south at 3:30 p.m. Sunday when it was struck by a car driven by Mark Saunders III, 31, of Ramona, Ross said. Saunders’ car was headed northbound when it veered across the median stripe into the oncoming lane, Ross said.

Saunders, who was treated at UC San Diego Medical Center and released, has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter, CHP Officer Ben Hyden said.
