Former University of Hawaii wide receiver Walter Murray will be tried again the week of March 2 on a bribery charge. Circuit Judge Robert W.B. Chang set the trial date after Murray pleaded innocent to the charge during arraignment Monday.
Murray is accused of offering a Honolulu police officer free football game tickets after the officer stopped Murray and a female companion for a moped violation.
Murray was tried on the charge two months ago, but the jury could not agree on a verdict and a mistrial was declared. In his earlier trial, Murray said he was joking when he offered the officer the tickets.
