All American Bowl to Offer More Money
The All American Bowl hopes to give $800,000 to each of the teams taking part in this year’s football game, including $200,000 from a producer of athletic uniforms.
Bowl President J. Robert Doody and Russell Corp. announced that the company will give $100,000 for academic scholarships to each school chosen for the Dec. 31 game.
Doody said that with ticket sales ahead of last year’s pace, when the bowl gave Michigan State and Georgia Tech $676,000 each, the total for this year’s schools probably will be about $1.6 million.
The bowl and Russell also said they will give matching amounts to the NCAA postgraduate scholarship fund, with the amount to be determined.
