LINEUP FOR N.Y. ANTI-DRUG EVENT

Rap group Run-D.M.C. will be joined by two reunited bands--the Allman Brothers and Crosby, Stills & Nash--in an anti-drug benefit concert Oct. 31 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, concert promoter Bill Graham announced Wednesday in New York.

Graham told The Times in August that he was “shocked” at the widespread use of crack in the Bronx, where he grew up, and vowed to hold a benefit concert. Graham, who now lives in San Francisco, had hoped to hold the concert in his old neighborhood, but he said Wednesday that the site was switched to Manhattan because the 16,000-capacity Knightsbridge Armory, his first choice, wasn’t financially feasible, and the second choice, Yankee Stadium, proved impractical.

The concert lineup will also include Santana, Ruben Blades and percussionist Olatunji.
