Ventura County Elections

I think I missed something. Who is running for Ventura County supervisor? Ed Jones or Tony Lamb? Is all this back-patting just a way to ensure that Ed will be re-elected and Tony will finally win an election for City Council? Ed has been busy telling everyone just how great Tony is, and Tony has been crediting Ed with things that he either didn’t do or promised to do and still didn’t do. Maybe each is campaigning for the other since, hopefully, each one has learned that “I” is a very insignificant word.

The political wheels in Ventura are desperately in need of some new oil. The citizens of the community need action--not promises and platitudes. We don’t need politicans who don’t know the rules by which we all are supposed to be guided. We need concern, knowledge, interest, ability and integrity. We need Madge Schaefer.

It’s refreshing to see a community figure who actually has the courage to respond with, “I don’t know the answer,” but who is willing to find out an answer and respond to her constituency. Here’s to you Madge, you have my vote.
